The Trimmers: America’s Cup BMW ORACLE
This is the seventh in a series of videos describing the roles of crew members aboard the BMW ORACLE America’s Cup Racing Yacht. In this episode we watch the Trimmers tune the sails for maximum performance. The headsail trimmer crouches low on the leeward side of the boat just behind the trailing edge of the genoa. This is right in the wind slot between the headsail and mainsail which acts like a turbo charger, firing alternate bursts of sea spray and wind at the trimmer as the boat accelerates. “You are pretty well rinsed by the time you come off the water” says Zach Hurst, one of the younger trimmers aboard. Directing the muscle power of the grinders, who handle loads up to 4-tons, the trimmer alters the shape of the headsail. He coordinates with the mainsail trimmer who uses a winch to position the boom and adjust the angle of the mainsail to the wind. Depending on the course direction, the trimmers adjust the sails for optimum shape and speed. Their interaction directs the flow of wind over the sails, driving the yacht forward. This Good Old Alberg 30
Put Your Company Logo Here. TheSailingChannel is seeking corporate sponsors for this program. Since March, we’ve reached over a quarter million sailors through our video podcasts. Use the power of video on the Internet to enhance your corporate brand. EMAIL US FOR MORE INFORMATION. TheSailingChannel.tv documents the refit of a 1975 Alberg 30 sloop. It’s the “This Old House” of sailboat restoration with Chesapeake Bay tunes sung by Them Eastport Oyster Boys, and featuring a refit team of seasoned sailors who belong to the Chesapeake Bay Alberg 30 One-Design Association. All currently own or have owned Alberg 30s in the past. The A-30 refit crew has many years of experience and has repaired and restored several other vessels. TSCtv will follow the refit through completion and sea trials scheduled for the summer of 2007. We anticipate approximately 12 episodes in this series. On Saturday, January 21, 2005, TSCtv videotaped the A-30 team in the beginning stage of the refit at Mike and Trish Lehman’s home where the boat is stored. The setting could not be better. Mike and Trish s beautiful home sits on the bank of Mill Creek off the Magothy River which flows into the Chesapeake Bay just above the Bay Bridge. The Lehman’s keep their own Alberg 30, beautifully maintained, at their dock. Their home is on a slight rise above the creek with a splendid view. The front walkway leads past a large garage and workshop to a paved parking area next to the street where the A-30 rests in its steel cradle. We consider this an optimum setting for videotaping the refit story. During our first day of filming, we were able to capture two major tasks: removal of an oversized fuel tank from beneath the cockpit (firmly bedded with several tubes of 5200) and the restoration of the original molded-in water tank beneath the V-berth. Team members described the process for both tasks and we also captured a good deal of banter back and forth as they worked. (We wired up each with a radio mic and shot three digital cameras for exceptional coverage.) In between tasks we interviewed the team members: Rolph Towney Townshend, Ralph Bluntschli, and Mike Lehman. The three were eager to tell their story. We learned about their personal sailing history, the history of the A-30 on the Chesapeake, the history of the refit boat, Roulette, and their goal of restoring the vessel and selling it to someone who will keep it on the Bay and sail it actively in Association races and cruises. VirtualSailboatShow: Ice Blink Producer, Greg Roscoe
At the 2006, 37th Annual United States Sailboat Show in Annapolis, MD, Greg Roscoe, producer of the sailing documentary, Ice Blink, is interviewed by TheSailingChannel’s President, Tory Salvia. Ice Blink is a remarkable documentary film about a conventional family of five, the Martins, living a very unconventional life afloat. In our exclusive interview with the film’s producer, Greg Roscoe, we learn how he followed the Martin story for many years, finally meeting them after they completed their arctic voyage and settled not far from Greg in Maine. For nearly twenty years, Dave and Jaja Martin cruised the world’s oceans, circumnavigating in a 25-foot boat while having their three children along the way. They are now living ashore following a four-year journey to Greenland, Iceland, and Norway in their 33-foot steel sloop, Driver. Greg tells us how he shaped the Martin’s digital video footage, added family archival photos, and shot new interviews with the couple and their children to create Ice Blink: A Family Navigating Life’s Ice-Clogged Waters. Ice Blink is currently airing on Public Television Stations across the U.S.V. View TheSailingChannel’s Exclusive free Video Preview of Ice Blink. I suppose the guy in the above is correct, but make no mistake, welding can be damn expensive. Especially when it comes to welding up a pressure vessel made of 40 mm plate. I’ve observed this and the weld preparation alone (grinding v’s on the plates to be joined) can take longer than a day. I suppose all is relative.

You connect the cable provided into both the mp3 player and your usb slot. Once you have done that you go into my computer and click on where it shows the Sansa Mp3 tab once you click that it will open as a folder. From there you drag any music you have on your comp into that folder and it will write on to player. Then just close the folder and disconnect and you will be good to go.

First of all, I think handmade gifts are the best(but then again I’m a mom who receives them from my kids all the time) When you take time out to make a gift you really put your heart into it. If you book through a travel agent you may get a perk like on board credit or perhaps a bottle of wine in your room, stuff like that. The price will be the same as if you book directly through the cruise ship company. I have done it both ways. One thing Princess cruises does is while you are on the ship, you can give them a deposit of $100 each person for your next cruise. You don’t even have to book a particular cruise, just do a open booking. You have 5 years to book the cruise. That way your $100 is all you need for a deposit. When you book through a travel agent or with a cruise company, they require you to give them a substantial deposit within about 10 days. I’ve been on 8 Princess cruises.

It is a copyright violation because the publisher owns the rights to distribution of that particular arrangement of words known as a novel. By downloading it without paying (or offering for free, as the case may be), the book has been distributed without the consent of the publisher, who has lost a sale. How is it different from a library book? Libraries lend originals…they don’t distribute digital copies.

At 17 you don’t get cheap car insurance. You’re in the age group that is most likely to go out ragging their car, not wear a set belt and maybe even drink drive. Your age group is one of the biggest risk groups for insurance companies, so you will struggle.

Of course not, but women now assume that men only like them and hey only look good with makeup. If you actually look at someone with makeup, they usually look overdone. I personally LOVE the look of non-straitened hair, because when it IS straighted, it looks so fake. The new look is just wearing some foundation and lip gloss, and embracing your natural beauty. God gave you curly hair to FLAUNT it not STRAIGHTEN it!!!

In order to do so, you need to 1) be running at least Windows XP, and 2) have the Sansa software installed on your PC to transfer the videos and pics. Also, when I last checked, the Sansa only supported certain file formats for videos; if I remember correctly, it may have only supported .MOV files, since I tried transferring .MPEG files and it could not play them.

My friend has a dealing on car rentals and he really loves having it. Part of his business is also cleaning small parts of cars. He has become more thriving than ever with his business and it has really help him a lot. Car rentals are one of the best services offered that I find amusing so far. I can’t help thinking about cars being borrowed by people you barely are familiar with. Although it is a strong business, it is rather not that reliable for me since I am a kind of person who his profit. My father used to refuse the idea of renting a car from a car rental. He would say that it is an unsafe idea since it is not our personal car that we would be driving. Although we would be paying for the car, he would still refuse to use it. It would be practical for a person who does not own a car to just go to car rentals and rent a good one to use. Although it is a bit costly, it is still a need since the car would be used. For fathers that still don’t have money to finance car loans, I’m sure a lot of them would go to car rentals and just rent one.

All of the free services spy on you and use your personal information for profit. Then there are the really bad ones that place bots and trojans on your computer. Pay a couple of bucks and don’t get used.

Keywords are still important, but you should also make sure these keywords are also in the META description, Title, and in your content. Also link building helps SEO. Exchange links with sites in the same category as you. There are so many things to help with SEO, it would be way too much for me to list here. Also make sure your code is clean and validates, check for spelling errors, etc…

Mainly because 30 or 40% of the vehicles currently roaming our roads weigh over 4000 lbs and would cause ridiculous fatal damage to a compressed air car….which have to be very light weight because they lack power. There is also no infrastructure in place for them….people don’t trust brand new technology….and our manufacturers are already putting time and effort into better hybrids and hydrogen vehicles.
